Bradford's Track and Field Team is Headed to Regionals

Bradford’s track and field team is preparing for the State Regional competition that will take place on Thursday, May 16 at Bishop Foley Catholic High School. Fourteen athletes from Bradford have qualified to compete in the regional meet, which is exceptional.

Four athletes to watch are Aniya Howard (long jumper), Lyris Perkins (300 hurdles), Ariel Clemons (100-meter dash) and Jalen Whitaker (1600-meter run).  These four students have a chance to qualify for the State meet.

Coach Dion Alexander explained,  “I coach based off of principles that I learned from great mentors who taught me the importance of discipline, hard work and the heart it takes to win — not only in sports but also life.”

“The best part of being a coach tothese young men and women is that they are students of the game and they love to compete. It’s a joy to coach our students,” coach Alexander concluded.

Most impressively, the track team has also excelled in the classroom and produced a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 as a team!
