Bradford Academy Seniors Earn $4.5 Million Dollars in Scholarships

Bradford Academy graduated 124 seniors on Wednesday, June 6, 2018. Scholarships totaling $4.5 million dollars were offered to Bradford students prior to graduation, which was more than $100,000 dollars more than last year.

“We’re so proud of the Class of 2018. These students have defied the odds stacked against them and continue to amaze me every day,” said Principal Cheryl Paull. “I look forward to seeing where these awards will lead them in the next year.”

This year, 100 percent of the 124 graduates graduated on time. As of today, 93 percent of the graduates have been accepted to some type of higher education. 44 students collectively earned the $4.5 million dollars in scholars with eight of those students earning more than $200,000 each in scholarships and seven students earning more than $100,000 each in scholarships.

The 2018 Valedictorian Anony Walton will be attending Morris Brown College with a full-ride scholarship totaling $767,000 in total offers, and the 2018 Salutatorian MacKenlie Stowers will be attending Michigan State University with a $205,000 scholarship.

“Bradford Academy focuses on college prep, and this is demonstrated by the success of the Class of 2018,” Paull concluded. “Congratulations, graduates!”
