Bradford Academy High School’s 2016-2017 Uniform Policy

Dear Bradford Academy High School Families:

I truly hope you are all taking the time to enjoy this beautiful summer weather, soaking up the sun and spending quality time with your families and loved ones. As this summer officially marks the end of the 2015-2016 school year, my team and I have taken some time to reflect and focus on the year ahead. We are eager and excited for the 2016-2017 school year. With that being said, we will be communicating throughout the summer with changes and updates for the 2016-2017 school year to assure we are keeping open lines of communication.

Bradford Academy is a uniform school. It is our expectation that our students show up in the proper uniform each and every day. Unless documentation has been sent home explaining a variation or scheduled dress down day, we expect the uniform policy to be followed. If we have a scheduled dress down day notification will ALWAYS be sent home and an automated message from the school will be sent as well.

The uniform policy for the 2016-2017 school year has been updated:

If your child shows up to school out of uniform, he/she will not be allowed to enter class. A phone call home will be made and the students will sit out of class until the proper uniform is provided to the student at school or until the student is picked up. If your student is prohibited from entering the classroom he/she will be missing out of necessary instructional time. Student uniform infractions will be documented and disciplinary actions will be taken:

1st offense: Phone call home and student will be removed from class/instructional time until infraction is corrected

2nd offense: Phone call home and students will be removed from class/instructional time until infraction is corrected and a mandatory parent meeting will be requested

3rd offense: Students will receive a 1-3 day suspension based on prior infractions and disciplinary record.

If a student exceeds a third offense the student will receive additional suspensions with the potential of appearing before the Board of Directors to determine if Bradford Academy is the correct educational facility for the student.

As we move into the 2016-2017 school year, changes will take place within the policies and procedures of the school’s daily operations. I will continue to openly communicate these changes in a timely manner and will keep our families informed. I will work with you and I can only ask that you work with me as well to assure your child is receiving the best possible educational experience to prepare them for life after high school. If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please call me at 248-351-0000 ext. 18306.

Thank You,

Cheryl Paull
